Principal

Dr. Ellyce Cone

2024-2025 is the beginning of Dr. Cone’s 33rd year in education.  She graduated from Texas Tech University in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in Multidisciplinary Studies.  Her first teaching job was in Galveston, Texas, where she taught kindergarten and first grade.  Dr. Cone moved to Georgia in 1997 and began teaching fourth and fifth grade at Dacula Elementary.  She taught at Dacula for eleven years.  In 2006, she graduated from The University of Georgia with a master’s degree in Educational Leadership.  Dr. Cone joined the staff of Margaret Winn Holt Elementary in 2008 as an assistant principal before being named principal in 2014. She recently graduated with a doctorate in Educational Leadership from The University of Georgia. In September of 2022, she was appointed as the principal at Patrick Elementary School. 

Dr. Cone has been married to her husband, Michael, for 26 years.  Michael is a second-grade teacher at Mulberry Elementary.  They have a son, Garret, who is married, and has 1 daughter, Emaleigh, who is a junior at The University of Georgia, and a daughter, Victoria, who is a sophomore at the University of Georgia. 

In her free time, Dr. Cone loves to read, go camping with her family, take long walks, and spend time with her family.  She is so excited to be a part of the Patrick community to work alongside teachers and parents to help our students learn and grow.

Assistant Principal

 

Mrs. Theresa Ellinger

Mrs. Ellinger has been an assistant principal at Patrick since 2021. She has 8 year of experience teaching 5th and 6th grade math. She received the honors of teacher of the year in 2016 and superintendent’s teacher of the month twice in 2012 and 2016 before moving to Georgia in 2017. Her Gwinnett career began in 2017 at Hopkin’s Elementary in the Berkmar cluster. She taught 5th grade math then taught AC math for 3rd -5th graders alongside gifted testing and instructional coaching.

Mrs. Ellinger received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education at Northern Arizona University and a master’s degree from Dallas Baptist University. Mrs. Ellinger is currently working toward her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership at Piedmont University.

Mrs. Ellinger has a husband and three adult children. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time at the beach. She also enjoys being active and attending outdoor festivals and street fairs.  

 

Mrs. Kari Frega

Mrs. Frega has been in education for almost 30 years. She graduated from THE Ohio State University with an associate's degree in marketing and then later graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in communication. After moving to Georgia from Ohio, she graduated from Mercer University with a master's degree in education. 

Mrs. Frega began teaching in DeKalb County before moving to Gwinnett County. She taught at Cedar Hill and then moved to Winn Holt ES as a charter staff member.  She worked there for 19 years. During her career, she has taught 2nd-4th grades, gifted, AC Math and Reading, EIP, specials, and was a Math Coach for K-2.  She has been an AP for over 10 years and loves working with the K-2nd grade students.  

Mrs. Frega has been married for over 30 years and has 3 kids.  Her son currently attends Georgia State University.  She also has twin daughters; one attending GGC and the other attending Keune Academy. Her family cheers loudly for THE Ohio State Buckeyes. In her free time, she enjoys boating, gardening, walking and playing with her dogs.

Assistant Principal

 

Mr. Kristopher Kasler

Mr. Kasler joined the Patrick Elementary family in 2022. He began his career as a middle school teacher in Fulton County in 2000 where he worked with students with orthopedic impairments. Mr. Kasler made stops in New Orleans and San Antonio where he supported students with learning and behavioral disorders before settling at Richards Middle in Gwinnett County in 2005. He taught math and science in the Orthopedic Impairment program, earning Teacher of the Year honors in 2009. Mr. Kasler joined the Benefield Elementary team as Assistant Principal in 2010, and he opened Jordan Middle in 2015 where he served as Assistant Principal until 2022. Mr. Kasler earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Education from the University of Florida, and he holds a certificate in Educational Leadership from the University of Georgia. Mr. Kasler enjoys cooking, rooting for the Gators, attending shows, and spending time with his wife, daughter, and five pets.
